Monthly Luncheon Meetings
The SBBA holds monthly luncheon meetings on the first Thursday of each month where a volunteer guest speaker is invited to discuss educational topics of interest to SBBA members. Past luncheon speakers have included county and circuit court judges from the 17th Judicial Circuit and appellate judges from the Fourth District Court of Appeal. Because of the educational component of the luncheons, the SBBA is able to obtain CLE credit approval for its members of the Florida Bar.
Our monthly luncheons are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, and are held at the Ark Restaurant (Ballroom) located at 6255 Stirling Road, in Davie, Florida. Our upcoming guest speakers are:

Annual Installation Dinner
The SBBA also sponsors an annual Installation Dinner every spring, usually in either March.
Our 2012 Installation Dinner was held March 15, 2012, at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. We were honored to have Florida Supreme Court Justice Ricky Polston as our keynote speaker.
At previous dinners, the SBBA was privileged to honor: Florida Supreme Court Justice Jorge LaBarga (keynote speake rin 2011), Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Peggy A. Quince (keynote speaker in 2009), and Florida Supreme Court Justice Barbara J. Pariente (keynote speaker in 2010).

Social Events
The SBBA also hosts social events for its members. Recent events have included “Night with the Florida Panthers,” “Meet and Mingle over Martini’s and Meatballs” at Anthony’s Runway 84, and our Second Annual Night at the Improv with comedian Jay Mohr. Most recently, we held "Wine Tasting Happy Hours" at Hollywood Vine in Hollywood and 7th Street Wine Company in Ft. Lauderdale. Check back to this page for future events.*
The SBBA's monthly luncheon meetings, annual installation dinner, and social events are all great opportunities for members to get to know each other personally and professionally. At each event, members are given a platform to introduce themselves to the entire group, as well as, discuss their areas of law practice.
